Tesco Extends Kids Eat Free to Weekends in 330 UK Stores for Summer
Tesco Kids Eat Free Scheme Now Includes Weekends in 330 Stores

Tesco has extended its Kids Eat Free scheme to weekends for the first time, operating seven days a week in 330 participating stores across the UK until September 1. The move allows families to redeem a free children's meal with any adult purchase, which can be as low as 65p for an apple.

How the Scheme Works

To qualify, adults must buy a full-price item at a Tesco Cafe or Coffee Shop and scan their Clubcard. There is no limit on the number of free kids' meals per transaction, so families of any size can benefit. The free meal options include a hot meal deal, breakfast, or pick 'n' mix deal.

Popular children's menu items include egg and soldiers, beans and soldiers, pancakes, Omega 3 fish fingers, baked chicken strips, and pork sausages. The pick 'n' mix option offers a sandwich, drink, two snacks, and fresh fruit.

Additional Summer Savings

Tesco is also reducing the full price of children's meals in its cafes as part of the UK Government's Great British Summer Savings scheme, which cuts VAT on children's meals, activities, and days out from 20% to 5%.

From July 20 to August 30, Tesco will bring back free fruit for kids, allowing children to pick up free apples at checkouts in over 800 large stores and 77 Express stores. Click and collect customers will also receive free apples at selected locations.

Claire De Silva, Head of Communities at Tesco, said: “We know that household budgets can be really stretched, especially over the long summer holiday, so offering free meals to children during this time is just one of the ways we can support families.”
