Zara Fitting Room Shock: Woman's Privacy Violated in Melbourne Store
Woman's Privacy Violated in Zara Fitting Room Incident

A shopper in Melbourne has issued a stark safety warning to women after a distressing incident in a Zara store, where a man allegedly ripped open her fitting room curtain while she was completely undressed.

The Disturbing Incident Unfolds

The event occurred last Tuesday at the multi-level Zara store within Westfield Doncaster. Rita, the customer involved, had been trying on clothes in an upper-level changing room when the violation occurred.

"I was in there, clothes off, and then a male just ripped open the curtain," Rita recounted in a TikTok video that has since amassed over 645,000 views. "I had my back to the curtain being open, I got a fright, I jumped, and then shut the curtain."

She described the act as feeling "aggressive" and was left shocked by the sudden exposure. After quickly dressing, Rita immediately approached Zara staff to report what had happened.

Concerning Store Response

Rita's initial attempt to get answers proved frustrating. She first questioned a male employee about whether he had opened the curtain, but he denied involvement.

What shocked her further was being informed by another staff member that the upper-level fitting rooms were 'not manned' and that customers were expected to use the changing facilities on the lower level instead.

Following the incident, Rita claimed she received a text message from the store that, while apologetic, stated Zara was "unable to assist further" and that staff "did not know anything about it."

Aftermath and Ongoing Developments

In a subsequent TikTok video, Rita shared that she had been contacted by a Zara Australia representative who had reviewed CCTV footage from the store.

She claimed the representative confirmed that a male worker was seen entering the changing room area and opening the curtain on her cubicle.

Rita has urged other women to exercise caution when using changing rooms, stating: "Ladies, please be careful using change rooms. As mine was aggressively opened whilst I was undressed."

Victoria Police has stated they are not aware of the incident at this time. Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Zara Australia for official comment.
