Teenagers can be notoriously difficult to buy for, but a new survey of US teens reveals the most sought-after gifts for Generation Alpha, from Lululemon jackets to slushie machines. While the research is US-focused, many trends are likely to cross the Atlantic.

Clothing tops the list, with one 13-year-old saying, 'I want another Lululemon Define jacket, as it makes me feel snatched.' Others requested fitted tops, hoodies from brands like Dandy, and gold-plated bracelets and necklaces for a 'pretty' look.

Tech gifts remain popular, including AirPods, Apple Max headphones, iPads with accessories, and VR headsets. One 16-year-old said they want AirPods 'to listen to music privately, during class, or drown out the noise of parents and/or siblings.'

For active teens, gifts like boxing gloves, a hoverboard, pull-up bars, dumbbells, hunting boots, fishing lures, and volleyballs were mentioned. Creative gifts include an electric guitar, drum set, fake eyelash kits, and a mini donut making machine.

Practical items also feature, such as a thermal brush for hair, a bed tray for snacks, shelves for storage, and a projector to watch movies on the bedroom wall. One teen summed it up: 'Just more clothes. Honestly, that’s all I want.'
