A mother of two has revealed how a straightforward cashback application is helping her save hundreds of pounds on groceries and other purchases. Swinny Coutinho, 40, from Fleetwood in Lancashire, uses the free app tuck. to earn cashback on her weekly shop and larger expenditures at major retailers including Morrisons and Argos.
How the app works
The app is available at all major UK supermarkets and allows users to earn money back on everyday spending. Swinny typically earns between £3 and £5 per week on her shopping, accumulating roughly £500 through the scheme to date. She lives with her husband and two young sons, and has developed a habit of saving small amounts on routine purchases.
“It’s so simple – you’re earning money on things you’d buy anyway,” she said. “I’m always on the lookout for bargains, whether it’s cashback, surveys or scanning receipts. I genuinely enjoy saving money while I spend.”
Comparison with other services
Swinny previously tried other cashback websites but found them less convenient. “They were mostly online-only, easy to forget about, and the cashback could take ages to come through – sometimes with fees taken off. Tuck is much simpler. There are no charges and the cashback is instant, so it’s the one I use all the time now.”
She now incorporates the app into her weekly routine, spending between £100 and £150 on groceries, clothing, and household items, and earning £3 to £5 in cashback each time. For larger purchases, such as spending over £800 on phones and garden items, the savings are even more significant.
Accumulated savings
Over the course of a year, Swinny accumulated around £350 in cashback savings for her family budget. “It’s become part of my normal routine whenever I shop – online or in-store. It’s just so easy to use. It also makes you more aware of where you’re spending and how to get better value. It’s those small amounts that really add up over time.”
She builds up the cashback towards larger goals rather than spending it immediately. Last year, the family used their earnings towards a holiday in Dubai, and this year they plan to put the savings towards their mortgage. She has been encouraging friends to sign up, describing it as “such an easy way to save”.
CEO’s perspective
Neel Thakrar, CEO of tuck., commented: “Swinny’s story shows how small, consistent savings can build into something meaningful over time. She hasn’t changed her lifestyle or spending habits – she’s simply made cashback part of her everyday routine. For busy families, those everyday costs can quickly add up. Being able to earn money back on that spending, little and often, can make a real difference – whether it’s helping with big purchases, holidays or long-term financial goals.”
