ZOA Energy Drink Settlement: Claim Up to $150 by February 20
Claim up to $150 from ZOA Energy Drink Settlement

Customers in the United States who purchased ZOA Energy drinks, the brand co-founded by Hollywood star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, could be entitled to a cash payout. This follows a $3 million class-action settlement resolving allegations that the company misled buyers about its products' ingredients.

The Core of the Lawsuit: '0 Preservatives' Claims

The legal action, initially filed in October 2023 in the Northern District of California, centred on ZOA's marketing. The lawsuit argued that the drinks were labelled as containing '0 Preservatives' while actually containing chemical preservatives such as citric acid and ascorbic acid.

ZOA Energy has firmly denied any wrongdoing, stating its labelling is accurate and lawful. No court ruling was made on the merits of the case before the settlement was agreed upon by both parties.

Who Can Claim and How Much Could You Get?

You are eligible to file a claim if you are a U.S. consumer who purchased ZOA Energy drinks labelled '0 Preservatives' for personal use between March 1, 2021, and November 21, 2025.

The reimbursement structure offers two levels:

  • Up to $150 per household for claimants who can provide valid proof of purchase, such as receipts.
  • Up to $10 per household for those without receipts, calculated at $1 per drink.

All claims must be submitted online or postmarked by February 20, 2026. It is crucial to note that any payment received must be redeemed within 180 days or it will be forfeited.

Key Deadlines and Settlement Details

Consumers who wish to retain the right to sue ZOA Energy independently must formally opt out of the settlement by submitting a written request by February 13, 2026.

The $3 million settlement fund will also cover attorney fees and administrative costs. A final hearing to approve the settlement is scheduled for March 26, 2026.

ZOA Energy was launched in 2021 by Dwayne Johnson alongside business partners Dany Garcia, Dave Rienzi, and John Shulman. Marketed as a healthier alternative, it emphasises natural caffeine, electrolytes, and vitamins. The brand, in which Molson Coors Beverage Company took a majority stake in 2024, continues to be led by Johnson in his role as 'Chief Energy Officer'.
