Cakes and Biscuits Recalled Over Rodent Contamination Fears

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an updated recall notice for a range of cakes and biscuits manufactured by Saffron Pastries due to potential rodent contamination. The products, sold under the Saffron Pastries brand, are deemed unsafe to eat.

The recall affects multiple products with various best before dates, spanning from April 2026 to April 2027. The FSA corrected the best before dates for five products in the updated notice. Affected dates include all best before dates from 17 February 2027 to 5 April 2027, among others.

The FSA advised consumers: “If you have bought the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to where you bought them from for a full refund.” Point of sale notices will be displayed in retail stores explaining the recall.
