Pizza Hut has reopened its restaurant at Marble Arch in central London after a major investment, marking a rare bright spot for the chain following the closure of 68 UK locations last year. The reopening reflects the company's confidence in its dine-in experience and future growth plans, according to a statement.
Background of Closures
In October 2025, Pizza Hut announced the closure of 68 restaurants across the UK after entering administration. The company secured the continuation of 64 sites, transferring approximately 1,277 team members to a new Yum! equity business under UK TUPE legislation. The closures affected locations from Ashton to Yeovil, including major cities like Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Cardiff.
Reopening and Celebratory Competition
The Marble Arch venue has undergone a refurbishment and is now welcoming customers again. To mark the occasion, Pizza Hut launched a competition asking diners to share photos of their celebrations at any UK Pizza Hut restaurant using the hashtag #HutMemory. The first 100 eligible entries will win a Pizza Hut voucher worth £19.73.
According to a Pizza Hut spokesperson, the reopening demonstrates the brand's commitment to its physical restaurants despite the challenging retail environment. The company declined to disclose the exact investment amount but described it as 'significant'.
List of Closed Restaurants
The 68 closed restaurants include: Ashton, Beckton, Bolton, Bournemouth, Bradford Vicar Lane, Brighton Marina, Bristol, Cardiff, Carlisle, Chatham, Clacton, Cortonwood, Crawley, Cribbs Causeway, Croydon, Dudley, Dundee, Durham City, Eastbourne, Edinburgh (three locations), Enfield, Falkirk, Feltham, Finchley Lido, Great Yarmouth, Greenwich, Grimsby, Hartlepool, Hayes, Hereford, Huddersfield, Hull, Inverness, Kettering, Kidderminster, Lancaster, Leeds (three locations), Liverpool, Llanelli, Lowestoft, Manchester Fort, Middlesbrough, Norwich, Oldham, Portsmouth, Preston, Reading Gate, Rhyl, Rochdale, Romford, Russell Square, Scunthorpe, Shrewsbury, Silverlink, Solihull, St Helens, Stratford-upon-Avon, Thanet, Tower Park, Truro, Urmston, Wellingborough, Wigan, and Yeovil. Future Outlook
Pizza Hut's parent company, Yum! Brands, has not announced further reopenings but indicated that the Marble Arch location serves as a test for potential future investments. The chain continues to operate 64 dine-in restaurants across the UK.
