Cadbury has issued an urgent recall of its festive Dairy Milk Little Robins chocolates due to a potential nut contamination. The confectionery giant's owner, Mondelez UK, warned that some packs may contain almonds after being incorrectly packed alongside Robins Daim Chocolate.
The affected batches are CIS3092812 and CIS3092822, sold in 93g bags with a best before date of March 31, 2020. Customers with nut allergies are advised not to consume the product and to return it to the store for a full refund.
A Cadbury spokesman said: 'The safety of our products and consumers are extremely important to us, and we apologise for any inconvenience. We have been made aware that two batches of Cadbury Dairy Milk Little Robins (93g bags) may contain Cadbury Dairy Milk Little Robins Daim Chocolate by mistake.'
The spokesman added: 'As a precautionary measure we are withdrawing the product from sale, as the Daim chocolate product contains an almond-based ingredient. We are advising any consumers who are allergic or intolerant to almonds, to check the product for the following date and batch codes before opening and not to consume it.'
