The body of reality TV star and DJ Maycon Douglas, 26, has been discovered washed up on a popular tourist beach in Portugal, a week after he went missing. He vanished on New Year's Eve after being spotted DJing at a bar before heading home with a friend.
His body was found on Wednesday near North Beach in Nazaré, north of Lisbon, close to where his car had been found submerged in the sea. Fisherman Antonio Silva retrieved the body and identified the DJ by his tattoos.
Maycon's mother, who had been hospitalised the day before the discovery due to illness from the stress of his disappearance, is now awaiting news. His girlfriend Raquel Coelho paid tribute on social media, saying: 'I would give anything to have you back, anything.'
Although Brazilian, Maycon had lived in Portugal since the age of four. He rose to fame on season 8 of the Portuguese reality show 'Secret Story – Casa dos Segredos' on TVI and had a significant online following on Instagram and TikTok.
Police are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death and have not ruled out foul play. His last social media post on December 30 read: '2025 was intense... 2026 is about vision, discipline, and consistency.'
