Rangers have reportedly agreed a fee with Partizan Belgrade for midfielder Vanja Dragojevic, with the deal including a 10 per cent sell-on clause for the Serbian club. The 20-year-old Partizan captain is expected to become Derek McInnes' latest signing as part of a midfield overhaul at Ibrox.
Transfer fee and sell-on clause revealed
According to Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport, Rangers will pay approximately £4.6 million for Dragojevic, following an initial £3.8 million bid that was rejected. The agreement also includes a 10 per cent sell-on clause, meaning Partizan will benefit from any future transfer of the player.
Partizan's sports director Radosav Petrovic hinted at the impending move, stating: "There are certain indications and I believe that in the coming days we will have more concrete information. It is an offer for Vanja Dragojevic."
Player left out of pre-season fixtures
Dragojevic has been omitted from Partizan's pre-season friendly matches during the club's training camp in Slovenia, further suggesting a departure is imminent. The midfielder has been a key target for Rangers manager Derek McInnes, who is focused on strengthening his midfield options.
Rangers' midfield rebuild
The move for Dragojevic comes as Rangers look to revamp their engine room. A potential deal for Bologna's Lewis Ferguson has been taken off the table, while interest in Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl remains. Hjerto-Dahl has publicly stated his preference to join Rangers this summer, despite interest from Cardiff City and Besiktas.
Further additions could depend on the future of Nico Raskin, who impressed at the World Cup with Belgium, and Connor Barron, who is attracting interest from across Europe. Rangers are expected to continue their recruitment drive as McInnes builds his squad for the upcoming season.
