Manchester United will move for Crysencio Summerville if Marcus Rashford leaves the club, according to The Guardian. The Holland international could be available for as little as £30 million following West Ham United's relegation from the Premier League.
Summerville seen as ideal Rashford replacement
The 24-year-old Summerville is viewed as the ideal profile to replace Rashford, who has spent the last 18 months away from Old Trafford on loan. The Hammers are reportedly open to offers for the former Leeds United man should they receive a suitable bid.
Rashford is set to return to Carrington after his summer break following the World Cup. The academy graduate is expected to join up with Michael Carrick's side. His future looked precarious after a fallout with Ruben Amorim, which led to a short-term loan at Aston Villa before he helped Barcelona win La Liga during a season-long stint in Catalonia.
Rashford's buyout clause not triggered
Hansi Flick's Barcelona opted against triggering the buyout clause in the 28-year-old's deal. This means Rashford will be reintegrated into the United squad as things stand, but The Guardian reports the club's preference is to offload the attacker.
Summerville, who impressed at Leeds and West Ham, is seen as a cost-effective option to bolster United's attacking options. The club is monitoring the situation closely as the summer transfer window progresses.
