Met Office Forecast

Separately, the Met Office warns of rainfall in the north of the country, though most places will remain dry and sunny. Its forecast for Sunday to Tuesday reads: "Many remaining fine and dry with sunny spells, though patchy rain possible in the north where cloud thickens. Temperatures near the seasonal norm on Sunday, then trending above next week."

The Met Office has also issued its verdict on whether the UK can expect rain this weekend. The forecaster said: "Northern Scotland may see some thicker cloud with patchy drizzle at times, while a few isolated showers could develop elsewhere, particularly around northwest England, Wales and southwest England. Even so, any rainfall is expected to be light and localised, with most places remaining dry."
