Police Arrest 'The Scratcher' in Edinburgh Car Vandalism Probe

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an extensive police investigation into an alleged spate of vehicle vandalism incidents in Edinburgh.

Arrest in Connection with 'The Scratcher' Incidents

According to Police Scotland, the crimes had been linked to an individual dubbed "The Scratcher" by locals. Officers executed a warrant in the capital on Friday morning, July 17, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Following questioning, he was charged in connection with the offences and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, July 20.

Investigation and Community Impact

Police Scotland said the arrest follows an extensive investigation into the series of incidents, which saw numerous vehicles damaged across the city. Officers thanked those affected for their patience while enquiries were carried out and said work is continuing to identify any further offences.
