Strictly's George Clarke tipped to win with savvy social media tactic
George Clarke's Strictly win predicted by PR expert

TikTok sensation George Clarke is being tipped as a potential winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2025, despite his recent middling scores from the judges. According to a celebrity PR expert, his clever use of social media and understanding of digital platforms is giving him a significant edge in the competition.

The Social Media Advantage

Celebrity and PR expert Kayley Cornelius has revealed that the 25-year-old's strategic online presence is projected to carry him all the way to the final. Since his Strictly debut, Clarke has been consistently creating content with his professional dance partner, Alexis Warr, across his social media platforms.

Fans have noted the pair's concerted efforts to feature prominently in the official Strictly Come Dancing social media content, particularly the popular 'Hidden Mics' series. This weekly video shares audio captured from the celebrities' hidden microphones during their live performances.

Observant viewers have spotted that George speaks more during dances than other contestants. In one performance, he was heard telling Alexis, "Come up on stage, trust me you'll love it," while during his Tango to Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida', he randomly exclaimed "treason".

Engaging a New Audience

Cornelius, speaking on behalf of online slots provider Spin Genie, explained the effectiveness of his approach. "The type of content he's now pushing out, he's featuring Alexis in a lot of his videos, so he's really trying to captivate the fans that may not have been familiar with him before," she said.

She highlighted that his consistent posting schedule and engaging content style are working exceptionally well with social media algorithms, increasing his visibility. "Strictly's really bringing a whole new audience for him in that sense," Cornelius added.

The expert also pointed out that the relationship is mutually beneficial. With over 2.4 million followers on TikTok, Clarke is bringing a substantial and highly engaged online audience to the BBC show. "To be honest, I think George is doing Strictly more of a favour than Strictly is doing George," she remarked.

The Online Voting Game-Changer

This year's change to the Strictly voting system has played directly into Clarke's strengths. "George has had such an advantage point going into the competition," Cornelius stated. "This year, the voting system has changed where they've moved votes online - that's his bread and butter."

She believes the combination of his strong work ethic, pleasant personality, and digital native status makes him a formidable contender. "He's worked really hard, he's performing well, and he's just an all-round lovely person. So I think a combination of all three of those things will take him right to the finish line," Cornelius concluded, noting that the current betting markets are increasingly favouring him to win.

Strictly Come Dancing continues with just nine celebrities remaining in the competition, following last week's show where Emmerdale's Lew Cope topped the leaderboard with the first four 10s of the series.
