Streamer Completes 7 Zelda Games in 89-Hour No-Sleep Marathon
Zelda Marathon: 7 Games, 89 Hours, No Sleep

Completing a video game to 100% is a serious test of endurance, requiring players to find every secret and finish every quest. Now, imagine doing that for seven massive games in a row, without a single moment of sleep. That is the monumental feat just accomplished by a dedicated Twitch streamer, setting a potentially unprecedented record in the gaming world.

The Sleepless Zelda Odyssey

Popular streamer Nukie, who has over 5,800 followers on Twitch, embarked on a staggering challenge: to speedrun and achieve 100% completion in every single 3D The Legend of Zelda title back-to-back, without sleeping. The marathon, streamed live to her audience, lasted for a mind-boggling 89 hours.

In a post on X after the event, Nukie declared herself "the first human on this planet to complete every 3D Zelda game (Ocarina of Time to Tears of the Kingdom) 100%, in one sitting without sleep." She described it as the culmination of six years of practice poured into a four-day speedrun she will "cherish forever."

A Breakdown of the Epic Run

The scale of this undertaking is hard to overstate. The main stories of these games alone can take dozens of hours, with full completion often requiring hundreds. Nukie's marathon covered the following seven titles, with her recorded completion times for each:

  • Ocarina of Time: 4 hours 19 seconds
  • Majora’s Mask: 5 hours 12 minutes 20 seconds
  • The Wind Waker: 7 hours 14 minutes 12 seconds
  • Twilight Princess: 7 hours 12 minutes 54 seconds
  • Skyward Sword: 8 hours 39 minutes 34 seconds
  • Breath of the Wild: 22 hours 40 minutes 19 seconds
  • Tears of the Kingdom: 32 hours 51 minutes 31 seconds

The latter two entries, modern open-world epics, are particularly notorious for their sheer volume of content, making her sub-24-hour and sub-33-hour completions remarkable feats of efficiency and endurance.

Safety First: A Cautious Approach to an Extreme Feat

While celebrating her incredible achievement, Nukie was keen to emphasise the importance of safety during such an extreme physical and mental test. She revealed that she consulted regularly with her doctors throughout the process and was meticulous in listening to her body.

"I was perfectly ok before, during and after the run," she stated, but added a crucial warning: "I actively discourage anything like this, you must take proper precautions if you are seriously sure." She also reported that she did not experience microsleeps or hallucinations during the nearly four-day endeavour.

This historic gaming achievement pushes the boundaries of what is considered possible in endurance streaming, blending incredible skill with careful planning. It serves as a testament to both the dedication of the speedrunning community and the enduring, expansive appeal of Nintendo's legendary Zelda franchise.
