A pair of goggles may be a beach and poolside staple, but no one's ever called them stylish. However, more than 22 million people have just discovered a previously under-the-radar range by iconic swim brand Speedo that combines underwater function with fashion. The Sunny G Mariner Mirror looks at first glance to be a pair of aviator sunglasses, but they are in fact goggles. And the internet has collectively lost its mind.
A reel posted by shopping influencer @findswithalil has racked up a staggering 22.5 million views in just four days. Followers flooded the post with comments, most requesting details on where to buy the innovative goggles. 'How did this not happen until 2026!!??!! Genius' one follower enthused. 'This is so cool!! How did it take this long for someone to think of this,' another agreed.
The gold and bronze Sunny G Mariner Mirror style goggles by Speedo have skyrocketed in popularity after being featured in a viral reel with 21.8 million views. The aviator-style design features anti-fog lenses, 100 per cent UVA/UVB protection and a comfortable anti-hair snagging strap with a toggle for adjusting.
'Ok I may need these,' was another common sentiment. Morgan Tyler Jones sent shoppers wild after filming herself swimming underwater in a pair of fun aviator-style goggles. 'Why did it take this long to make goggles that double as sunglasses?' she said. 'They actually look GOOD. It's my top purchase of the summer.'
Many rushed to add the sell-out Speedo goggles to their shopping carts as others shared the excitement over buying a pair. 'Stop it right now! I need them,' one said. 'The way my jaw dropped! That is brilliant,' another shared. 'Finally they made something cool and not dorky,' one added.
While hard to find online in Australia, Amazon currently has both the Mariner Gold and Bronze, and the Mariner Silver and Emerald shades available to buy, each priced at AUD46.79. Designed to be worn in and out of the water, shoppers can roll straight from sunbathing into the pool. The design features anti-fog lenses, 100 per cent UVA/UVB protection and a comfortable anti-hair snagging strap with a toggle for adjusting.
The Sunny G range is primarily a children's range, with a collection of bright and fun sunglass-inspired designs. The adult version of the Mariner Mirror was included in a round up of TIME magazine's best inventions of 2025, but it was @findswithalil's Instagram reel that truly sent the product's popularity skyrocketing. The content creator regularly shares beauty, home decor, fashion and family buys with her 64,900 followers.
While the majority of the influencer's followers were effusive in their excitement over the fashionable goggles, others wryly commented that they planned to stick to a traditional style, citing that 'looking like a goof is 25 per cent of the fun'.
