Josie Gibson turned heads for all the wrong reasons at the Now 'Smart Girls Fake It' launch party in London on Tuesday evening, as her overly dark fake tan drew criticism. The 30-year-old former Big Brother star attended the event, which promoted the benefits of fake tan over sunbathing, but her own application appeared to go awry.
Gibson's face and midriff were an unusual shade of dark brown, contrasting sharply with her bright blonde hair and pale pink lips. She later denied using fake tan, tweeting: 'Moral of the story... Never do your make up in the back of a dark moving taxi FML I'm not even wearing tan, it's my bad make up skills.'
The event, held at Kanaloa bar, was part of a campaign with Superdrug Solait to encourage safe tanning practices. Despite the mishap, Gibson showed off her slimmed-down figure in a white crop top, long black skirt and leather jacket, having lost substantial weight since her reality TV days.
Gibson, who previously struggled with low self-esteem due to her larger size, has spoken about how weight loss has improved her confidence. She admitted to Good Morning Britain that her larger figure once led her to miss opportunities.
