Samsung has unveiled a major upgrade to its portable entertainment lineup with the new Freestyle+ projector, set to be officially launched at the CES technology show in Las Vegas this week.
AI-Powered Simplicity Takes Centre Stage
The Freestyle+ is designed as a direct successor to the original Freestyle model from 2022. Its standout feature is a suite of intelligent tools aimed at eliminating the traditional hassles of projector setup. The core of this is Samsung's AI OptiScreen technology, which allows the device to automatically adjust the picture to fit its surroundings.
This means users can simply switch it on and point it at almost any wall. The AI handles keystone correction, focus, and colour calibration in real-time. Specific features include 3D Auto Keystone to fix distortion on uneven surfaces, Real-time Focus to maintain sharpness when moved, and Wall Calibration to analyse surface texture and colour for optimal clarity.
Portable Entertainment, Amplified
True to its name, the Freestyle+ retains a compact, portable design for moving between rooms. It comes with a built-in speaker and Wi-Fi connectivity, offering direct access to popular streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video.
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, stated: "The Freestyle+ reflects Samsung's vision to create displays that adapt naturally to how people live and move between spaces." He emphasised that the combination of portability and intelligent AI aims to deliver a consistent, high-quality viewing experience anywhere.
Availability and Expectations
Samsung has not yet confirmed the official pricing for the Freestyle+. However, the company has indicated that the device is expected to arrive in stores in early 2026. This launch positions it as a flexible alternative to traditional televisions, particularly for those seeking a large-screen experience without a fixed installation.
