Three Wrexham fans entered the high-tech lair of Wisła Kraków majority shareholder Jarosław Królewski, a tech millionaire behind the AI firm Synerise. During the visit, the StarIQ supercomputer insulted defender Conor Coady, labeling him 's***', and made a chilling prediction that football managers will be obsolete by 2028.
Inside the AI Lair
Andy Gilpin, Simon Cooke, and Tim Edwards of the Fearless in Devotion podcast were invited into Królewski's inner sanctum during Wrexham's pre-season trip to Poland. Królewski, described as 'an Elon Musk who isn't a p****', wore 3D-printed shoes and led the fans into an office featuring a monitor the size of a small family car, a life-sized Darth Vader and Chewbacca, and a hand-drawn self-portrait.
StarIQ: The Supercomputer Scout
StarIQ, Królewski's AI-powered football intelligence system, can analyze 100 games in a single hour, far surpassing traditional scouts who watch three or four games a day. When the fans asked the system to evaluate Conor Coady, the AI's verdict was brutally honest: 'Ah yes, s***.' The data showed Coady scored 96/100 for ground duels but had dismal ratings in other areas.
Rising Star Max Cleworth
In contrast, the AI had high praise for young defender Max Cleworth, estimating his value at €10 million (£8.4 million). The system also compared Wrexham's goalkeeping options, rating Arthur Okonkwo significantly higher than Danny Ward, particularly in shot-stopping.
Managers Obsolete by 2028
Królewski dropped a bombshell prediction: 'You won’t need head coaches in two years. I don't think the traditional head coach will exist.' He believes AI will handle recruitment, tactical preparation, and mid-game substitutions, processing millions of data points beyond human capability. Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson may need to update his CV, though he already shipped Coady on loan to Charlton Athletic last season.
