Social media sensation Mia Zelu turned heads at Wimbledon with her stunning Instagram posts, but not all is as it seemed. The influencer, who has amassed over 284,000 followers, is actually an artificial intelligence creation. Her photos from Centre Court, adhering to the All-England Club's strict dress code in a white vest and skirt, and a playful snap sipping Pimms, were entirely AI-generated.
AI Model's Deceptive Presence
Mia's captions contribute to the illusion, with one reading: "Still not over the event... but the party's a whole other game... Which Wimbledon match was your fave?" She also shared a video showcasing articles written about her, accompanied by an AI song with lyrics: "Let me be more than a face in the feed, Let me plant hope like a delicate seed. When I'm not here, may my message remain: You matter, you're love, and it's okay to change."
Mia even has an AI "sister" named Ana, who boasts even more followers with similar content. While Mia discloses her AI status in her bio, thousands of fans remain convinced she is real.
Cricket Star Among Duped Followers
One notable fan was Indian cricket star Rishabh Pant, who liked many of her posts. A fan quipped: "Rishabh Pant thinks he's interacting with a real girl, completely unaware that it's an AI." Another added: "Someone should probably tell Rishabh Pant that this is an AI account..." Pant's likes have since disappeared from the page.
Mia's page continues to grow, gaining nearly 100,000 new followers in a year. A video showing her supporting Germany at the World Cup, part of a viral AI trend of TV cameras panning to stunning women in the crowd, was captioned: "POV: you're 2-1 up & the camera comes to eat you alive, sir please."
