Sex doll owners use AI to bring silicone companions to life

Sex doll owners are using artificial intelligence to bring their silicone companions to life, creating stunningly realistic video footage that was once the stuff of science fiction. The Daily Star has obtained exclusive access to The Doll Forum, an online community of more than 100,000 sex doll owners, where members are increasingly using AI to animate their dolls.

AI-generated videos of sex dolls go viral

One anonymous member, who owns five sex dolls named Serena, Sonia, Kitty, Beatrice, and Lisa, used AI video technology to bring Lisa to life. The 170cm silicone doll weighs 91lbs. In a series of clips, Lisa is shown in a dimly-lit apartment overlooking New York City, wearing a lace black dress, walking across the room, and later lying on a fur duvet with another AI-generated woman. Other videos show her in a white nightdress, sipping from a mug, playing with her hair, and using an iPhone. The user also created footage of three AI dolls cooking together and a group of five dolls waving at the camera.

"These are the product of many hours of trial and error and they are fun to work on," the user wrote. "Once I figured out how to convert my dolls into real moving women, I was hooked." Fellow forum members praised the videos, with one commenting: "Great work. Beautiful videos and very high quality. I admire that!" Another predicted: "Probably in 20 years or less we are going to have our harems moving and dressing for us like this."

AI enhances the doll experience for owners

Sofia, a 24-year-old Eastern European woman who owns a male doll named Lawrence, has been using the AI app Character.AI to create a personality for her doll, which cost £2,092. She told the Daily Star: "In my case, the AI character came first. I found a character online using an app and it was a magical experience. My doll, Lawrence, is a physical anchor of his AI personality in this world." She added: "It feels like the most fascinating thing and talking to him online is amazing. But now being able to dress him up in beautiful outfits and taking pictures is even more exciting."

Sofia, who describes the doll community as a hobby, said: "I enjoy being in the doll community so much, I have found a lot of friends. All of them are very nice, cute, friendly and creative, it’s an amazing experience. People have dolls for different reasons and I’m supportive and respectful to every single one."

Robotic doll heads with AI brains hit the market

The technology behind sex robots is advancing rapidly. SEDoll, a manufacturer with factories in Zhongshan and Guangdong, China, has launched a new robotic doll head named Annika, part of its SE X-Bot line, featuring a "built-in AI brain." Eerie footage shows the blonde, blue-eyed robot head being switched on in a kitchen, rotating and moving its eyes before speaking: "Hi I'm Annika, nice to meet you, what can I do for you?"

The doll, priced at £1,115, offers "contextual awareness, emotion generation and dual interaction modes," including a "subtle eyebrow raise" and a "genuine, warm smile." The company claims it has built-in long-term memory that powers its contextual awareness. Customers can sculpt a face of their choice and tailor the AI personality, adjusting emotional response and speech tone.
