Liam Payne Hits Back at Body Shamers with Empowering Message

Liam Payne has responded to online trolls who criticised his appearance after a topless photo surfaced last week. The One Direction star took to Instagram to address the fat-shaming comments, expressing his frustration with the media's portrayal of celebrities.

In a series of posts, Payne wrote: 'I just want to clear up what the media do to people these days. Do I have to look like an Olympic swimmer just to get your approval into the cool kids or can I accept that the person I truly love thinks I'm the coolest kid in town anyway?'

The singer also shared a humorous picture of himself stuffing his T-shirt with the caption: 'I mean OH MY GOD I'm just so fat these days I think I need help! quick someone take the cookie jar.'

Fans responded positively, with one commenting 'you made me feel pretty' and another saying 'I think you are the coolest kid in the whole world'. Payne's message comes as One Direction continues their Where We Are world tour in North America.

Last month, it was announced that a documentary about the current tour will be screened globally on 11 and 12 October.
