CurrentBody Multi Light Therapy LED Mask Review: Best I've Tested
CurrentBody Multi Light Therapy LED Mask Review: Best Tested

The CurrentBody Multi Light Therapy LED mask has five light modes targeting fine lines, blemishes, pigmentation, and redness. Priced at £499.99, it is the best LED mask I have tested, according to consumer journalist Sarah Matthews.

What the Mask Offers

The mask includes 566 LEDs arranged at 110 points across the face, with 110 each of red, near-infrared (NIR), blue, yellow, and green lights, plus 16 deep NIR bulbs. These deep NIR bulbs are placed around the mouth and under the eyes to target deeper wrinkles, though they do not cover the forehead.

The five 10-minute preset treatments combine light types: anti-ageing (red, NIR, deep NIR), clearing (blue and red), restoring (yellow and NIR), brightening (green and NIR), and complete (all except blue, using facial mapping technology).

How It Performed

Matthews tested each mode for four nights, then used her favourite for the rest of the two-month test. The anti-ageing mode performed as effectively as the standalone Series 2 mask, leaving skin calmer, smoother, and more even. The clearing mode minimised breakouts and flattened bumps on her forehead, while the restoring and brightening modes reduced redness and pigmentation, aided by simultaneous NIR light.

The complete mode provided a boost for lacklustre skin. The mask stayed in place during use, with adjustable straps and removable eye guards. The controller displays treatment mode, countdown timer, and battery level, lasting over a week of treatments per charge.

Drawbacks

The thick silicone nose flap left a slight red mark on the bridge of the nose, which faded within five minutes. Adjusting the straps was fiddly due to unclear instructions. The chin strap prevents the mask from packing flat, making it less portable; the soft storage bag is provided but a hard case would be preferable for a £499.99 device.

Warranty and Returns

CurrentBody offers a 14-day full refund if skin sensitivity occurs after a sensitivity test, and a two-year warranty covering manufacturing faults. Repairs or replacements can be requested via a returns form.

Verdict

Matthews recommends the mask for those wanting to invest in the best LED mask she has tested. She notes that spending an extra £100 over the Series 2 mask is worthwhile for versatility. The £299.99 Shark CryoGlow offers blemishes and anti-ageing treatments but fits less comfortably and lacks deep NIR light. The Veritace certification ensures quality, though the mask is expensive and not necessary for light-touch anti-ageing.
