Wendell Carter Jr Confirms Romance with Angel Reese

After months of intense online speculation, Orlando Magic centre Wendell Carter Jr has all but confirmed he is in a relationship with Chicago Sky WNBA superstar Angel Reese.

The basketball world has been buzzing with rumours of a romance since May, and Carter has now offered his most direct comments yet during a television appearance, stating the pair are 'locked in'.

Months of Hints and Public Appearances

The speculation began in earnest back in May, when Carter was spotted at Reese's 23rd birthday party, where he was seen capturing video of the celebrated athlete.

The rumours gained further traction in July when the pair attended the WNBA All-Star Game together. Carter was photographed wearing a T-shirt that appeared to be dedicated to Reese, solidifying their connection in the public eye.

Reese herself has fuelled the fire with cryptic social media posts. Over the summer, she shared a video on TikTok of a lavish bouquet of pink and white roses with the caption, 'that's a sign, that's a signnnn.' More recently, she posted on Instagram, 'ion [don't] post my boo or my money just know i got both,' adding 'rebranding & yes, i got both.'

'That's My Girl': The Confirmation

The worst-kept secret in basketball was finally addressed head-on when Carter appeared on FanDuel's 'Run It Back' show. When asked about the dating rumours by former NBA player Chandler Parsons, Carter responded, 'That’s the homie for sure. We locked in. Y’all gonna find out when y’all need to find out.'

He then quickly amended his statement, clarifying, 'That’s my girl, though. We locked in for sure.' This prompted co-host Lou Williams to jokingly warn Carter about the perils of initially referring to Reese as his 'homie'.

A Supportive Partner in the Stands

Adding another layer to their confirmed status, Reese was seen last week attending an Orlando Magic game to cheer on Carter. Her support from the sidelines came as he delivered a huge poster dunk against the Portland Trail Blazers, marking her very public debut as his supportive partner at a game.

This public confirmation cements their status as one of basketball's newest and most-watched power couples, bridging the NBA and the WNBA.
