Prince William has received an invitation to attend the darts from teenage sensation Luke Littler, following an MBE ceremony at Buckingham Palace. The 19-year-old darts prodigy was awarded the honour by the Prince of Wales on 19 May, during which William expressed his admiration for Littler's rapid rise in the sport.
Royal Interest in Darts
Luke Littler recounted that Prince William told him he had been "following his journey" in darts and remarked that the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace "looks like a good night out." While Littler did not extend a formal invitation on the spot, he later stated that either he or the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) could arrange tickets for the royal if he wished to attend.
Littler's Offer
Speaking after the ceremony, Littler said: "He said it looks like a good night out, so I said we can sort something out. Either me or the PDC can get him tickets if he wants to come along." The invitation has sparked excitement among darts fans, who would welcome the future king to the iconic venue known for its electric atmosphere during the championship.
Prince William, a known sports enthusiast, has previously attended various sporting events, including football and rugby matches, but has yet to be seen at a professional darts tournament. The World Darts Championship, held annually at Alexandra Palace in London, is one of the most popular events in the sport, drawing large crowds and television audiences worldwide.
