Racing expert Newsboy has pinpointed his standout selections for Tuesday's trio of UK race meetings, with a strong fancy for Nazare at Haydock Park and Snaafy at Wolverhampton forming the backbone of his daily double.
Haydock Nap Set For Hat-Trick Bid
All eyes at Haydock's jumps meeting will be on the opening race, the Betfred Nifty 50 Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle (12.35). Newsboy's nap selection is the James Owen-trained Nazare, who is fancied to make it three wins in a row.
The five-year-old gelding, by Masterstroke, has shown tremendous grit in his recent victories. Last time out at Southwell, he demonstrated admirable stamina to prevail by a neck over Havefunontherun in a two-and-a-half-mile contest. Prior to that, he overcame some less-than-perfect jumping to come from behind and score by a length and a half from Walk In The Valley.
Newsboy believes the step up to the three-mile trip for the first time will bring about further improvement. Under the guidance of conditional jockey Alex Chadwick, Nazare is tipped to complete his hat-trick in the opening race on Tuesday afternoon.
Wolverhampton Next Best For In-Form Runner
The evening action on the all-weather at Wolverhampton features Newsboy's next best bet of the day. He is sweet on the chances of Snaafy in the Bet 10 Get 40 with BetMGM Nursery (7.00).
Trained by David Loughnane, the juvenile arrives in fine form, having secured a course and distance victory on his most recent start. That win came over a mile and one furlong, where he kept on resolutely to defeat Emma's Letter by half a length.
Having been campaigned mainly over shorter distances, the step up in trip seemed to suit him perfectly. Newsboy suggests that a similar performance from Snaafy should see him right in the mix against his seven rivals, making him a solid bet to follow up his recent success.
