Lampard and McKenna on Palace shortlist to replace Glasner

Crystal Palace have placed Frank Lampard and Kieran McKenna on a shortlist of at least six managers to replace Oliver Glasner, who will leave the club at the end of the season. The club has already initiated contact with potential candidates.

Lampard's resurgence at Coventry

Frank Lampard, currently at Coventry City, has earned renewed respect in football for his work with the Championship side. Although it seems unlikely the Chelsea legend would leave the newly crowned Championship winners amid such a romantic story, Palace are among a few clubs who believe they can test his loyalty. Fulham would also make a move if Marco Silva departs.

Coventry would be due compensation of around £5 million if Lampard were to leave, but there is currently no expectation of that happening.

McKenna's intriguing situation

Kieran McKenna presents a more complex case, having been on the verge of leaving Ipswich Town in the past. However, the compensation due to Ipswich would be even higher, at approximately £8 million.

Other candidates and factors

Andoni Iraola is currently exploring other options, including Chelsea, having previously been open to the Palace job. Palace's interest in replacements dates back to January, when Glasner's departure was announced.

The attractiveness of the Palace role could also shift depending on how Glasner finishes this season. A victory in the Europa Conference would secure Europa League qualification and a larger budget for the next manager.
