Fans of Death in Paradise have reason to celebrate, as a beloved star from the series returns to the small screen in another gripping detective drama. Josephine Jobert, who played DS Florence Cassell in the BBC hit, now stars in the Canadian series Saint-Pierre, which has just been renewed for a third season.
From Saint Marie to Saint-Pierre
Jobert first appeared as Florence Cassell in Death in Paradise during season four and left in season eight, only to return for a final storyline in season 13, where her character sailed away with DI Neville Parker. Now, viewers can watch her in Saint-Pierre, a mystery series set in the French overseas collectivity of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
The first season of Saint-Pierre recently became available on U&Alibi, Sky, and NOW in the UK, after premiering in Canada in January 2025. The second season aired in Canada in January 2026, and a third season of 12 episodes is set to begin filming in July in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon and Newfoundland, Canada. However, UK fans are still waiting for confirmation on when the second season will be released locally.
Plot and Reception
In Saint-Pierre, Jobert plays Deputy Chief Genevieve "Arch" Archambault, a mysterious Parisian officer who must work with disgraced detective Donny "Fitz" Fitzpatrick (Allan Hawco) after he is exiled to the remote islands. Despite their clashing investigative styles, the duo forms an effective partnership, solving a new case each episode.
The show has earned an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been praised by fans on IMDb. One viewer wrote, "Obsessed! Seriously, I'm hooked. Every week, they leave you hanging with a cliffhanger, and I'm just dying!" Another called it a "must watch," while a third commented, "The cast are excellent - they have great chemistry. Also Saint-Pierre is STUNNING! It's a character all on its own." Others described it as an "incredible series" and praised the chemistry between the leads.
Saint-Pierre is available to watch on U&Alibi, Sky, and NOW.
