South Sydney Rabbitohs playmaker Cody Walker has shared some joyous personal news, revealing he has become a 'girl dad' for the very first time with the arrival of a baby daughter.
A Special Birthday Surprise
In a remarkable and sweet coincidence, Walker's newborn daughter, Keari Lou Walker, shares her birthday with one of her older brothers. The 35-year-old footballer announced the happy news, the couple's fourth child, via an Instagram post on Sunday. This means the newest member of the Walker family was born on the same date as her sibling, Kian.
Celebrations from the NRL Community
The heartwarming announcement quickly became a talking point across the National Rugby League. Fellow professionals were quick to flood the post with congratulatory messages. Cronulla Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes, who recently got engaged, wrote a simple 'Congratulations guys'.
Rabbitohs teammate Cameron Murray added, 'Congrats guys, she is beautiful,' while Bulldogs utility Blake Taaffe humorously noted, 'Congrats guys, scary dad is coming.' The Walker family now includes Keari's three older brothers: Kian, Kade, and Kora Alfie, who was born in August last year.
Focus Returns to the Field
Off the back of this family milestone, Cody Walker is set to suit up for his 11th NRL season with the Rabbitohs in 2026. The experienced star is still chasing an elusive premiership with South Sydney, having come agonisingly close in 2021 when he scored a try in their narrow grand final loss to the Penrith Panthers.
For now, however, the focus is firmly on family as Walker and his wife Amy enjoy this special new chapter with their daughter Keari Lou.
