The 48-year-old, who is currently the head coach of Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew, has been in discussions with the Glasgow club since last week. While the final details of the contract are still being ironed out, sources within Celtic Park are growing increasingly confident that an agreement will be reached.
This appointment will require Celtic to pay compensation to Columbus Crew for the release of their manager. Furthermore, the club is also believed to be in talks with Nancy's preferred backroom staff. This team is expected to include a coach who has familiarity with Scottish football, which could help ease the transition.

In the meantime, the interim management duo of Martin O'Neill and Shaun Maloney are set to continue in charge for the team's upcoming crucial fixtures.
