Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has criticised Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli for his role in an incident that left Liverpool's Conor Bradley injured during their Premier League clash. Bradley was stretchered off after a nasty fall, and Martinelli was involved in a confrontation that sparked a melee.
Neville, commentating on the match, was visibly angered by Martinelli's actions, saying: 'You can't push him off the pitch, you cannot do that.' He branded the Brazilian an 'idiot' and expressed surprise that Liverpool players did not retaliate more strongly.
The incident occurred when Bradley attempted to clear the ball and landed awkwardly, appearing to injure his knee. Martinelli then threw the ball at the defender and tried to push him off the pitch, leading to a scuffle involving Ibrahima Konate, who was booked.
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and former Manchester United captain Roy Keane also condemned Martinelli's behaviour. Szoboszlai emphasised that player health is more important than winning, while Keane called for an apology, stating he was 'surprised the Liverpool players didn't go after him a little bit more'.
Bradley's injury adds to Liverpool's defensive woes, with Joe Gomez now the only senior centre-back available. The match ended in a draw, denying Arsenal the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
