Blackburn vs Ipswich Halted After Pitch Invasion Protest

Blackburn Rovers' Championship match against Ipswich Town was abandoned after a pitch invasion by protesting fans, with the hosts leading 1-0. The protest targeted the club's owners, Venky's, with supporters calling for an end to their tenure. The game was stopped in the second half as demonstrators ran onto the pitch, forcing the referee to call a halt.

This was the second time this season a Blackburn home game has been abandoned. Earlier in the campaign, a match against Sheffield Wednesday was called off due to a waterlogged pitch with Rovers also leading 1-0. Yuki Ohashi had given Blackburn the lead in the 33rd minute before conditions deteriorated.

In other Championship action, Coventry's five-match winning run ended with a 3-0 defeat at Ipswich, who climbed to fourth. Goals from Sindre Walle Egeli, George Hirst and Ivan Azon sealed the win, with goalkeeper Christian Walton making key saves. Sheffield United continued their revival with a 4-0 victory over Stoke, moving up to 18th.
