Barcelona moved seven points clear at the top of La Liga after a 2-1 victory away to 10-man Atlético Madrid on Saturday, following Real Madrid's shock 2-1 defeat at Real Mallorca earlier in the day.
Atlético took the lead six minutes before half-time through Giuliano Simeone, but Barcelona equalised three minutes later via Marcus Rashford. Atlético's Nico González was sent off on the stroke of half-time, and Robert Lewandowski came off the bench to score a fortunate rebound three minutes from time to seal the win.
Atlético remain fourth on 57 points, 19 behind Barcelona. The two sides meet again at the Camp Nou on Wednesday in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Real Mallorca's Vedat Muriqi scored an added-time winner to secure a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid. Manu Morlanes had given Mallorca the lead in the 42nd minute, before Éder Militão equalised for Real in the 88th minute. Muriqi struck three minutes later to seal the win, moving Mallorca two points above the relegation zone.
In Germany, Bayern Munich scored three times in the last nine minutes to come from two goals down and win 3-2 at Freiburg. Tom Bischof scored twice to level the scores before Lennart Karl tapped in the winner in stoppage time. Bayern travel to Real Madrid on Tuesday for their Champions League quarter-final first leg.
