Liz Truss Launches 'Counter-Revolution' Show, Vows to Fight 'Deep State'
Truss launches media show, promises 'Trump-style' fightback

Liz Truss, the former Conservative prime minister, has announced a provocative new venture, pledging to use a social media show to ignite a political fightback against the forces she claims destroyed her premiership.

The Liz Truss Show: A Platform for 'Unapologetic Debate'

Dubbed The Liz Truss Show, the programme is promoted as a direct challenge to a media landscape accused of groupthink and timid consensus. It promises straight-talking discussions on Britain's future and the defence of Western civilisation. "The deep state tried to destroy me but now I’m back and excited to launch this show," Ms Truss declared, framing her return as a form of political resistance.

The ex-PM, whose tenure in Number 10 lasted a mere seven weeks in 2022 before a revolt by her own MPs, has positioned herself as a victim of a shadowy establishment. She has been forced to repeatedly deny being the UK's worst prime minister, a label attached after her government's mini-budget triggered market turmoil.

A Controversial Legacy and a New 'MAGA' Ambition

Ms Truss's short time in office was defined by economic chaos. Her Chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng, unveiled a massive borrowing package to fund the biggest tax cuts in half a century, a move that spooked the City and sent the pound to a 37-year low. Under intense pressure, they abandoned the plan to scrap the 45p income tax rate for top earners, and Ms Truss resigned soon after.

She has since consistently blamed a "deep state" of intransigent bureaucrats for sabotaging her radical agenda. At a US conservative conference, she even urged Elon Musk and his followers to investigate the British administrative state. Now, she explicitly calls for a UK movement akin to Donald Trump's 'Make America Great Again' campaign, seeking a "Trump-style counter-revolution" to defend the free world.

Confronting 'Elites' and Championing a Rebuild

The new show will tackle topics she says the mainstream avoids, including free speech crises, economic stagnation, mass migration, and cultural wars. Producers claim it "confronts the issues that others tiptoe around".

In her launch statement, Ms Truss argued that people across the West are "tired of experts who get everything wrong" and "weak leaders who won’t stand up for Western values". She reframed her dramatic exit from Downing Street, stating: "In 2022, I was deposed as prime minister for trying to save Britain from the doom loop we are in. I was blamed for a market crisis that was not my fault."

Her concluding rallying cry positions the show as a vehicle for her political ideology: "It’s time to push back, speak plainly and champion the ideas that built Britain — and can rebuild it again." The move signals her intent to remain a vocal, disruptive figure on the political right, leveraging social media to bypass traditional channels she views as hostile.
