Trump Sparks Outrage with 'Unhinged' Jesus Christ Image and Pope Attack
Trump's 'Unhinged' Jesus Image and Pope Attack Spark Outrage

Former US President Donald Trump has ignited a firestorm of controversy by sharing a highly unusual image of himself portrayed as Jesus Christ on social media, which rapidly went viral and was met with widespread ridicule and condemnation.

Viral 'Unhinged' Image Draws Mockery

The image, described by many online as "unhinged," quickly spread across platforms, prompting a flood of sarcastic and critical responses. One social media user exclaimed, "The whole world has gone absolutely crazy," while another quipped, "Looks like he is healing Jeffrey Epstein." The post has been viewed millions of times, fueling debates about Trump's online behaviour and its impact on public discourse.

Simultaneous Attack on Pope Leo

Just hours before posting the controversial image, Trump launched an extraordinary tirade against Pope Leo, the head of the Catholic Church, on his Truth Social platform. In a series of posts, he accused the Pope of being "Weak on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy," and demanded that the pontiff "get his act together." Trump further criticised Pope Leo's alleged stance on migration, the war in Iran, and the handling of the 2020 Covid pandemic, claiming priests were arrested for holding church services.

In a personal dig, Trump added, "I like his brother Louis much better," escalating the confrontation. His posts read, "I don't want a Pope who thinks it's OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. I don't want a Pope who thinks it's terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country."

Pope's Peace Vigil and Trump's Response

The criticism came after Pope Leo used a peace vigil at St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City to appeal to world leaders to abandon conflict and return to negotiations. He stated, "Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life." Trump responded by accusing the Pope of pandering to the radical left, posting, "Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician."

This incident highlights the ongoing tensions between Trump and religious figures, as well as his penchant for provocative social media posts that often dominate news cycles. The combination of the Jesus Christ image and the attack on Pope Leo has sparked outrage among both supporters and critics, raising questions about the boundaries of political and religious discourse in the digital age.
