Former President Donald Trump has made a series of unusual statements regarding his health, boasting about an 'outstanding' MRI result while simultaneously revealing he had 'no idea' what the medical scan was analysing.
The Bizarre Health Update
The comments were made on Friday 15 November 2025 aboard Air Force One, where Trump confirmed a recent, headline-grabbing visit to Walter Reed Medical Center. He stated that a doctor told him his MRI was 'the best result he has ever seen as a doctor,' describing the outcome as 'outstanding.'
However, the former president's account took a strange turn when he was pressed for details. When asked if physicians had scanned his brain, Trump replied, "I have no idea what they analyzed, but whatever they analyzed, they analyzed it well and they said I had as good a result as they’ve ever seen." This lack of clarity surrounding the purpose of the advanced imaging has raised eyebrows.
Online Reaction and Medical Scrutiny
The remarks were swiftly met with a wave of skepticism and mockery from Trump's critics online. Progressive journalist Mehdi Hasan suggested on X that the comments should prompt cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office. Reporter James Surowiecki lamented, "There is nothing Trump won’t brag about." Podcaster Jim Stewartson joined the fray, posting a mock image of an MRI showing a head filled with Swiss cheese.
The incident has also drawn scrutiny from medical professionals. Jeffrey Kuhlman, the former White House physician to Barack Obama, has questioned why Trump's visit to Walter Reed in October lasted for hours. He noted the short helicopter flight from the White House and told The Hill, "We know that he at least had four hours available to undergo medical care. There’s a disconnect there." The White House had previously described the visit as a 'scheduled follow-up' involving 'advanced imaging.'
Age and Ongoing Health Questions
At 79, Trump is the oldest person ever to have served as US president, and his health remains a regular topic of conversation in Washington. His fitness for office has been questioned following incidents where he appeared to fall asleep during a meeting and due to the frequent presence of bruising on his hands.
Trump has attributed the bruising to shaking numerous hands. However, a medical report from July 17 diagnosed him with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a common and benign condition for people over 70. Symptoms of CVI can include swelling in the legs or ankles, painful legs, varicose veins, and leg ulcers.
While attention has often focused on the health of his predecessor, Joe Biden, Trump's latest comments and the mystery surrounding his lengthy hospital visit have ensured the spotlight remains firmly on his own physical condition.
