Trump Endorses Jake Paul for Political Career

Donald Trump Predicts Political Future for Jake Paul

Former President Donald Trump has publicly endorsed social media star and professional boxer Jake Paul to enter politics, suggesting a significant career shift for the 27-year-old. This endorsement came during a recent interview where Trump, who served as president from 2017 to 2021 and was re-elected in 2025, expressed confidence in Paul's potential.

Trump's Full Support for Paul's Political Ambitions

In the conversation, Trump made a direct prediction, stating, "I predict that you will be, in the not too distant future, running for political office, OK? And you have my complete and total endorsement, OK?" Paul, who is currently ineligible to run for president until 2032 due to age requirements, responded by praising Trump's influence. "What Mr. Trump has taught me is courage," Paul said. "We never backed down from a fight, even if they're much bigger than you. And I feel all the local Kentuckians feel the same way."

Jake Paul's Boxing Career and Injury Update

Paul, who transitioned from a successful YouTube career to boxing, faced a major setback in his fight against former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua in December 2025. He was knocked out in the sixth round, resulting in a jaw broken in two places that required immediate surgery. Paul has now revealed that his recovery will delay his return to the ring until late 2026 or early 2027.

"I got my second surgery recently, and the doctor said it will be four, five, or six months to even be able to spar to see how the bone is healing," Paul explained. "So that puts us maybe late this year or early next year for a fight. It will definitely be a cruiserweight. Joshua's punches hurt way more than people in my weight class. That's where I'm best at, for sure, and where I want to continue to climb in the rankings and make some statements."

Future Fights and MMA Interest

Despite his injury, Paul remains active in discussing potential future opponents. He expressed interest in a fight with MMA heavyweight Francis Ngannou, who is scheduled to return to the cage in May 2026. "I'm down. I've always been down," Paul said. "You [Francis Ngannou] were the option before Anthony Joshua, and you ran like a duck." This comment highlights Paul's ongoing engagement with the combat sports community, even as he contemplates a political future.

The endorsement from Trump adds a new dimension to Paul's public profile, blending entertainment, sports, and politics. As Paul navigates his recovery and career decisions, this development could signal a broader trend of celebrities entering the political arena, inspired by figures like Trump.
