Masked Man with Ammunition Arrested at Ken Paxton's Texas Watch Party

A man wearing camouflage and a face covering was arrested outside a Dallas hotel on Tuesday evening, where Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was hosting his election night watch party. Police recovered ammunition from the suspect's vehicle after stopping him for traffic violations.

The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. during the first major primary night of the 2026 midterms. Officers were alerted to a suspicious person described as acting strangely. The man entered a vehicle without a licence plate and drove away before being stopped by police.

According to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth, a witness saw authorities remove several boxes of ammunition from the car. The suspect was wearing a black turtleneck, dark sweatpants, sunglasses, headphones, camouflage gloves, a hat, and a gaiter-style face covering. Investigators later determined he was at the location to deliver something to an employee.

Dallas Police confirmed the man was taken to the Dallas County Jail without incident. His name will not be released until he is formally booked. The arrest came as Paxton faced a runoff in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate against incumbent Senator John Cornyn.

President Donald Trump has not endorsed in the race. Paxton, a MAGA ally, was impeached for corruption in 2023 but acquitted by the state Senate. He has also been embroiled in a divorce from his wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, who cited infidelity on Biblical grounds.
