MAGA Voters Overwhelmingly Prefer Trump Over Tucker Carlson, New Poll Reveals

Support for President Donald Trump and his military campaign in Iran remains unshakeable among his base, according to a recent survey. The findings indicate that MAGA voters overwhelmingly favour the president over conservative broadcaster Tucker Carlson, who has been a vocal critic of the conflict.

Poll Details and Key Findings

The new survey from JL Partners, cited by the New York Post, provides compelling data on Republican voter sentiment. It found that 83 percent of likely Republican voters backed President Trump's judgment on Iran over that of non-interventionist pundits like Carlson and Megyn Kelly. Additionally, 84 percent preferred the president's foreign policy experience to that of Carlson and Kelly, while 85 percent said they take Trump more seriously than the former Fox News hosts.

This comes after former Georgia Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed on social media earlier this month that Carlson "would beat Trump if he ran for president and Trump tried to violate the constitution and tried to run again for a third term." However, the poll suggests such assertions are unfounded among the MAGA base.

Strong Support for Military Action

More broadly, the poll revealed robust backing for the administration's Operation Epic Fury campaign against Tehran. This military action has involved retaliatory airstrikes hitting U.S. and Israeli targets across the Middle East, resulting in 13 American troop fatalities and a surge in global oil prices.

The survey found that 83 percent of conservatives "strongly" or "somewhat" support this campaign. In contrast, only 9 percent of respondents said they "strongly" or "somewhat" oppose the military action. Furthermore, almost three-quarters of those surveyed (74 percent) stated that the U.S. should continue its bombing raids until Iran's military capabilities are completely eliminated, with merely 16 percent urging the president to end the conflict immediately.

Political Implications and Broader Context

The poll also examined the political ramifications of these views. It discovered that 78 percent of those polled are more likely to support a pro-war Republican congressional candidate in future elections, with just 10 percent inclined to back an objector. This suggests that the issue could significantly influence upcoming electoral contests.

President Trump has largely avoided directly responding to criticism from Carlson and Kelly, though he has commented that Carlson has "lost his way" and posted a Truth Social message supporting another right-leaning commentator, Mark Levin, after a personal dispute with Carlson.

Contrasting Voices and Additional Polling Data

Despite the strong support indicated by this poll, Carlson and Kelly are not the only prominent conservatives to have spoken out against the war. Influencer Carrie Prejean Boller, for instance, declared emphatically earlier this week: "MAGA is dead. It is deader than dead. And Americans are furious. We do not recognize President Donald J Trump anymore."

However, the JL Partners survey is not alone in showing unwavering support for Trump and his movement. An NBC News survey earlier this week found 90 percent approval for the airstrikes among MAGA supporters and a 100 percent approval rating for the president himself. Discussing this statistic on CNN, data analyst Harry Enten expressed astonishment, noting, "You don't have to be a mathematical genius to know you can't go higher than one hundred percent." He compared Trump's popularity to that of the Super Bowl-winning Miami Dolphins teams of 1972 and added, "Now, there are some Republicans who disapprove of Donald John Trump, but they are not members of the Make America Great Again movement. The bottom line is this: if you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump."

The New York Post argued that the poll proves claims of a fracturing Trump base over the war are "greatly exaggerated," highlighting the enduring loyalty within the MAGA movement.
