Republican Congresswoman Tells Lindsey Graham to Fight in Iran Himself
Graham Challenged to Fight in Iran by GOP Colleague

Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has issued a sharp challenge to Senator Lindsey Graham, telling him to go and fight in Iran himself if he continues to push for further military operations in the region. The Florida representative made the remarks on social media platform X, criticising Graham's long-standing hawkish stance on Iran.

Luna's Direct Challenge to Graham

"There are some in the Senate that advocate for war everywhere. Lindsey Graham is one of them," Luna wrote in her post on Monday. "He does NOT tell the President what to do, nor does he control Congress."

The congresswoman revealed she had consulted with both the administration and other members of Congress recently, confirming there were no plans for American boots on the ground in Iran. "If Senator Graham wants to go fight in a foreign conflict, let him be the first to volunteer," she declared pointedly.

Operation Epic Fury's Impact

The Trump administration's military campaign against Iran, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, has reportedly struck over 5,000 targets and sunk more than 50 Iranian vessels since its commencement. According to Pentagon figures, seven US service personnel have lost their lives in these operations.

Iranian state media presents a much grimmer picture, claiming nearly 1,000 Iranian citizens have perished since the conflict began on February 28th. The operation has involved substantial military expenditure, with $5.6 billion worth of weaponry deployed during just the first two days of the campaign.

Graham's Consistent Advocacy for Military Action

Senator Graham from South Carolina has been vocal about taking military action against Iran for years, intensifying his calls before Operation Epic Fury began. Since the campaign's initiation, he has consistently praised President Trump and Israeli forces while issuing threats to other nations in the wider Arab region, Cuba, and even Spain for not joining strikes against Iran.

Growing Conservative Criticism

Luna, a staunch Trump supporter, joins other conservative voices expressing frustration with Graham's aggressive foreign policy positions. Prominent podcast host Megyn Kelly questioned Graham's influence, posting on X: "Since when did Lindsey Graham become our president?"

Kelly elaborated further, stating: "The problem with Lindsay Graham isn't (just) that he's a homicidal maniac, it's that Trump likes and is listening to him, and Trump's favorite channel is parading him around like a Hefner bunny in stockings on every show," referencing Fox News' frequent platforming of the senator.

White House Response and Public Opinion

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt maintained that President Trump continues to enjoy a positive relationship with Senator Graham. In a statement to Politico, she asserted: "Republicans are unanimously supportive of President Trump's bold decision to launch combat operations and end the threat posed by the Iranian terrorist regime."

Despite this claimed unity, recent polling indicates significant public opposition to the military action in Iran. A substantial majority of Americans reportedly oppose the campaign, with 77 percent anticipating it will lead to a terror attack on US soil.

The conflict continues to generate heated debate within Republican circles, highlighting divisions between interventionist hawks like Graham and those advocating more restrained foreign policy approaches.
