Pogba's Comeback Hit By Injuries And Monaco Medical Issues

Paul Pogba's football career is in jeopardy after he received a four-year ban for testing positive for testosterone. The Juventus midfielder tested positive for DHEA, a banned substance that boosts testosterone, following the opening game of the season against Udinese on August 20. The ban, handed down by an Italian anti-doping prosecutor's office on Thursday, could potentially end his career.

Pogba, who has struggled with injuries since re-joining Juventus in 2022, was said to be furious at the length of the ban, the maximum penalty possible. His lawyers had rejected a plea deal and argued that he accidentally ingested the substance through pills prescribed by a US doctor. However, the prosecution did not accept his defence.

In a statement, Pogba confirmed he will appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The process could take months, and if CAS upholds the ban, the World Anti-Doping Agency also has the right to appeal. Pogba's future in football remains uncertain as he fights to clear his name.
