Former Trump loyalist Marjorie Taylor Greene delivered a blistering put-down to embattled FBI Director Kash Patel during a speech in Texas. Speaking at the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, Greene took a swipe at Patel, drawing laughter from the crowd.
Greene, who broke with President Trump last year over the Epstein files, opened up about receiving a deluge of death threats amid her feud with Trump. She claimed she reported the threats to Patel, who replied 'on it' but she hasn't heard from him since. Pausing and smiling, she quipped: 'I don't know what he's on.'
The crowd erupted into laughter and applause. Greene said many death threats referred to her as a 'traitor,' as Trump had during a rally. One message allegedly threatened to 'put a bullet' in her son's head. She claims neither White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles nor Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair responded when she forwarded the threats.
However, Vice President JD Vance was 'compassionate and kind,' she said. Greene alleged that Trump told her it was her fault and that she deserved it. The speech came shortly after Patel filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic, which reported that his FBI colleagues were alarmed by alleged absences and drinking. The Atlantic stands by its reporting.
Last month, it was reported that White House officials have been 'openly discussing' who will replace Patel. Patel was also skewered by SNL in a skit over the weekend, with Aziz Ansari portraying him, joking about the FBI's investigation into a shooting at the Washington Hilton and claiming the agency was 'six weeks away from pinpointing the exact location of Osama bin Laden.'
