Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag has been fined for using a vape inside the team's dressing room during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. The incident occurred during the clash against Punjab Kings, where television cameras captured Parag vaping.
Sanction Imposed
Parag was docked 25 per cent of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the IPL's code of conduct, which relates to conduct that brings the game into disrepute. The cricketer admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Amit Sharma.
Further Action Possible
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also exploring further stringent action against the team, its officials, and players to uphold the IPL's reputation. This comes as the league seeks to maintain high standards of conduct both on and off the field.
