Epstein's British Girlfriend Discussed Having His Child in Revealed Emails
Newly disclosed emails have unveiled disturbing communications between Jeffrey Epstein and his previously identified British girlfriend, Shelley Lewis. The messages, part of a massive document release related to investigations into the late financier, show Lewis discussing having Epstein's child and forwarding an article about hiring descendants of enslaved people.
Longstanding Connection Revealed
Shelley Lewis, 49, was previously named by Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell as having been in a relationship with the convicted sex offender between 1999 and 2002. However, the latest documents indicate their communication continued much longer, with emails suggesting contact as recently as 2018—nine years after Epstein's release from prison for soliciting sex with underage girls.
The Manchester-born wellness entrepreneur, now based in Abu Dhabi, forwarded Epstein a link to a story about the Gullah Geechee community, descendants of people brought to the United States as slaves in the 18th century. She reportedly added the message: "Where to find new help."
Intimate Exchanges and Baby Discussions
According to emails released by the U.S. Department of Justice, Lewis later discussed having a baby with Epstein. In one 2017 email thread, she purportedly wrote: "Don't worry, won't put you on the spot about a baby." Other messages show affectionate exchanges, including a 2014 email where she wrote "Love you!!!"
In 2010, she appeared to tell Epstein: "I just gave you a great gift by enabling you to 'do what you do' gracefully." Another bizarre exchange included Lewis sending Epstein a photo of a pig dressed as a tiger, to which he responded: "Predator on the outside, gentle inside. The opposite of what I have to deal with."
Flight Logs and Relationship Timeline
Court documents previously revealed Lewis was a frequent passenger on Epstein's private jets, often traveling alone with the financier to destinations including his £55 million New York townhouse and his private Caribbean island, Little St James. Flight logs show she took multiple trips on what became known as the "Lolita Express."
Lewis was just 22 when she reportedly met the then-46-year-old Epstein in New York, where she worked in the contemporary art department at Christie's auction house. Maxwell had written to Epstein in 2015, asking him to encourage Lewis to publicly acknowledge their relationship, stating: "I would appreciate it if shelley would come out and say she was your g'friend – I think she was from end [19]99 to 2002." Epstein simply replied: "Ok with me."
Personal Background and Career
Lewis grew up in Cheshire and later worked as a children's book publisher, authoring "A Key To The Heart," which received praise from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and former U.S. First Lady Laura Bush. She has described having a "spiritual awakening" and now runs companies offering "lifestyle guru" courses and yoga retreats, helping clients "heal from their past."
She married wealthy Turkish property developer Mahir Furtun in 2015, but they divorced two years later. Her father, retired millionaire businessman Brian Lewis, expressed sadness for Epstein's victims but noted he hadn't seen his daughter for some time and didn't know what she might want to say about the revelations.
No Allegations of Criminal Involvement
There is no suggestion that Lewis was involved with or aware of any criminal activity during her alleged relationship with Epstein, who died in jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial for orchestrating a global child sex trafficking network. Maxwell is currently imprisoned for helping Epstein recruit underage victims.
Lewis deleted all her social media profiles shortly after the initial release of court documents in 2020. In previous interviews, she described being helped by a New York mentor who "was so original in all his thought processes that he couldn't even see the box," which she said gave her an "'anything is possible' mentality."
The Daily Mail has contacted Lewis for comment, while The Times reported she had declined to comment on the newly released emails. A former colleague expressed shock at Lewis's connections to Epstein, describing her as "always very well connected and beautiful" and saying they were "shocked and saddened" by the revelations.
