Prince William Urged King Charles to Banish Prince Andrew Over Epstein Links, New Book Claims

A new royal biography alleges that Prince William urged his father, King Charles, to exclude Prince Andrew from the Royal Family following Andrew's 2019 Newsnight interview about his connections with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The book, written by royal expert Russell Myers, claims William saw his uncle as a major threat to the monarchy.

According to the biography, William was adamant that Andrew should be removed from family events and the inner circle to prevent further damage. A palace source is quoted as saying, 'The Prince of Wales was adamant the whole episode would never go away... there was absolutely no upside in Andrew being protected.'

The King is said to have been initially supportive of protecting his brother, leading to a 'full-scale fire fight' within the family. When William suggested excluding Andrew from the Sandringham Christmas celebrations, Charles reportedly put his son 'in his place'.

Buckingham Palace responded to the claims, stating that the King had 'profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor's conduct'. The Prince and Princess of Wales have also expressed being 'deeply concerned' by the ongoing revelations about Epstein.
