Brooklyn Beckham hits back at critics of his cooking videos

Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, has responded to online critics who mock his cooking videos. The 24-year-old began sharing cooking tutorials on social media in late 2021, amassing 16.2 million followers. His videos have featured dishes such as grilled cheese, steak, and fettuccine Alfredo, and he has partnered with brands like Chosen Foods and Typhur.

Many of his videos have attracted criticism, with viewers mocking his cooking techniques, ingredient choices, and presentation skills. In an interview with Insider, Beckham said he is accustomed to the negativity. 'To be honest, I’m used to the hate. It doesn’t really bother me. Cooking makes me happy. I have more important things to worry about than people saying a little bit of rubbish about me,' he stated.

One particularly controversial video was his grilled cheese tutorial, which drew comments such as 'Blowtorching pieces of toast. So unnecessary' and 'God this is utterly cringe and boring.' Critics also pointed out a hole in his trousers, with one writing, 'The hole is distracting me.' He has also faced backlash for reportedly hiring a $100,000 film crew to film a sandwich and for needing help frying a hash brown.

Earlier this year, Beckham discussed his culinary inspiration, recalling childhood memories of dining with his parents. 'I grew up in London. I always used to go to the pub, and we used to go after my dad played football,' he said. He now enjoys Japanese cuisine with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and described cooking as 'one of the few things that takes my mind off anything that’s happening.'
