Body Found Believed To Be Alleged Triple Murderer Julian Ingram

A body found in a decomposed state next to an abandoned vehicle in New South Wales is believed to be that of Julian Ingram, the man accused of murdering his pregnant former partner, her new boyfriend, and her aunt in January.

Police discovered the body at the Round Hill nature reserve, about 50km north-west of Lake Cargelligo, on Monday. A firearm was found next to the body. Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland said police believe the deceased is Ingram, but formal identification is pending.

Ingram, 37, had been the subject of a large-scale manhunt since 22 January, when he allegedly shot and killed Sophie Quinn, 28, her partner John Harris, 32, and her aunt Nerida Quinn, 50, in Lake Cargelligo. Quinn was seven months pregnant at the time. Ingram was on bail for alleged domestic violence offences against Quinn.

Holland said the discovery brings closure to the investigation and the community. “The main thing is, as it brings closure to this investigation, it brings closure to the people of Lake Cargelligo, and gives some solace to the town so they can relax,” he said.

Police had offered a $250,000 reward for information leading to Ingram’s arrest and had searched over 60,000 acres of land. The investigation into how Ingram obtained the weapon and the handling of his bail will continue.
