Prince Andrew's Desperate Pleas to Epstein Revealed
Newly published documents have exposed desperate email exchanges in which Prince Andrew told convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell "I can't take any more of this" as he begged them to publicly clear his name from sexual abuse allegations.
The US House Oversight Committee released thousands of documents from Epstein's estate on Wednesday 12 November 2025, revealing communications that occurred months after the Duke of York claimed he had severed all contact with the disgraced financier.
The Damning Email Exchanges
In one particularly revealing chain from March 2011, Andrew directly confronted Epstein about how he planned to respond to media inquiries regarding Virginia Giuffre's allegations. The convicted sex trafficker responded with a dismissive tone, writing: "Im not sure how to respond, the only person she didn't have sex with was Elvis."
The former prince appeared to grow increasingly frantic, separately telling Maxwell: "Hey there! What's all this? I don't know anything about this! You must SAY so please. This has NOTHING to do with me. I can't take any more of this."
Epstein's Attempt to Discredit Accuser
The documents reveal Epstein's determined efforts to undermine Giuffre's credibility. In a July 2011 email, he described her as having a "criminal record, total liar" and suggested investigating her background would please Buckingham Palace.
Epstein wrote: "The girl who accused Prince Andrew can also easily be proven to be a liar. I think Buckingham Palace would love it. You should task someone to investigate the girl Virginia Roberts."
In another exchange, Epstein appeared to confirm the authenticity of the now-infamous photograph showing Andrew with his arm around a teenage Virginia Giuffre, though he downplayed its significance by noting that "many of my employees have" had their picture taken with the royal.
The Fallout and Denials
The released correspondence ultimately contributed to King Charles stripping his brother of his royal titles in 2022, effectively ending Andrew's public life. This dramatic move followed both the publication of Giuffre's posthumous memoirs and the US government's decision to release documents from Epstein's estate.
Virginia Giuffre had alleged she was forced to have sex with Andrew on three separate occasions: at Maxwell's London home, at Epstein's Manhattan residence, and on Epstein's private Caribbean island, Little St James. She was 17 years old at the time of the alleged incident at Maxwell's home where the controversial photograph was taken.
Andrew has consistently and vehemently denied all allegations made against him. Epstein died by suicide in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, while Maxwell received a 20-year prison sentence in 2022 for her role in Epstein's sex trafficking operation.
