Amanda Owen Scolds Reuben After His 26-Ton Shovel Gets Stuck in Mud
Amanda Owen Warns Reuben After Shovel Gets Stuck in Mud

Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen found himself on the receiving end of a stern warning from his mother, Amanda Owen, after a spectacular blunder on the family farm. During the repeat episode of his spin-off show, Reuben Owen: Life in The Dales, aired on Saturday 2 May from series two, Reuben and his team attempted to repair the family road, but things quickly went awry.

Disaster Strikes During Road Repair

Reuben allowed one of his co-workers to take control of his new 26-ton loading shovel. Unfortunately, the heavy machinery became stuck in the mud, causing chaos and significant damage to the fields. The situation escalated when Amanda unexpectedly arrived, adding to Reuben's stress.

Amanda's Reaction

Amanda, a shepherdess, remarked to the camera: 'Well, I've just come down to see how Reuben is coming on with mending my road. But he seems to have not mended the road and he also seems to be wrecking the field and even better, it's not my field. It's our next door neighbour's. So it looks like things are not going to plan and actually, looks like a bit of a disaster at the moment.'

She then joked about Reuben's expression: 'Look at Reuben's little face, even he is completely stumped as to what to do.' Despite the chaos, Reuben quickly devised a solution, using one of the family's tractors to pull out the stuck shovel. Meanwhile, his co-worker bravely volunteered to inform the neighbours, who took the news positively.

Reuben's Frustration and Amanda's Warning

Feeling the pressure, Reuben quipped: 'You know when you feel like, you shouldn't have got out of bed this morning.' Amanda responded: 'Sorry! I just came to see how it was going!' Reuben sarcastically replied: 'It's going well. It's going really well.'

Scolding her son, Amanda warned: 'I'll tell you something. Your dad's going to kill you.' Reuben pleaded: 'As far as I am aware, let's not mention this until we get it out...'

Reuben Owen: Life in The Dales is available to watch on Channel 5.
