The second season of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder has paid tribute to BBC Commissioning Editor Danielle Scott-Haughton, who died in January at the age of 37. The tribute appeared at the end of the first episode of the new series, which was released on Wednesday, 27th May.
The dedication reads: 'In loving memory of our friend and colleague Danielle Scott-Haughton, 1989-2026.' Scott-Haughton was instrumental in bringing the series to the screen in 2024 and also worked on popular BBC shows including Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise.
Her death was first reported by The British Blacklist and later confirmed by the official Instagram account of Death in Paradise. The BBC crime drama posted a lengthy tribute, describing her as a 'passionate champion' of the shows she worked on and praising her 'energy and joy'.
The British Blacklist also shared a tribute, calling Scott-Haughton a 'steadfast supporter of Black creatives and Black stories'. Tributes poured in from colleagues, including Death in Paradise actor Don Gilet and radio presenter Clara Amfo.
Scott-Haughton served as Commissioning Editor for Drama at the BBC, overseeing shows such as EastEnders and Just Act Normal. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder season two is available on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
